2020: 4th IEW
4th India ESD Workshop (2020)
Venue: Faculty Hall, Main Building, IISc Bangalore
Date: 16th Feb 2020
Hosted by: MSDLab & DESE
The fourth edition of India ESD workshop was held in the sprawling IISC campus in the heart of city of Bangalore on 26th and 27th February. The attending members were welcomed by Dr. Gianluca on behalf of the ESDA BOD. Following that, keynote lectures were delivered by Prof. Mayank Shrivastava, Prof. Heinrich Wolf, Dr. Christian Russ, and Dr. Gianluca Boselli. Prof. Mayank lecture focused on future/RoadMap microelectronics, including novel materials and or novel technologies like Gallium Nitride and 2D Transistors. Whereas, Prof. Heinrich Wolf talked about novel Transmission Line Pulse testing methods for CDM events.
Dr. Christin Russ talk was focused on predicting the system level ESD robustness through modelling approach whereas Dr. Boselli extensively talked about challenges with the High voltage ESD protection. Speakers from Industry and academia delivered presentations on key ESD topics and helped the audience gain ESD perspective in various areas.
The second day of the workshop had key note talks presented by Dr. Charvaka Duvvury, Dr. Souvick Mitra and Dr. Harald Gossner. While Dr. Charvaka’ s lecture focused on the Full IC ESD design simulation approaches and system level ESD design, Dr. Souvick talked in length about ESD Design challenges from the technology scaling point of view.
Dr. Harald spoke about IC and System ESD Co-design approaches. The workshop was attended by over 200 members of industry and academia and paved the way for dialogue and exchanges. The last session of the conference hosted an expert panel discussion on ESD challenges in emerging nodes and a conclusion note by Dr. Charvaka Duvvury.
